The Many Lives of Carl Sandburg

John Quinley, author of the book, Discovering Carl Sandburg, and the print series, Letters from a Sandburg Docent, will soon make available another way of learning about the prolific life of Carl Sandburg—a play, The Many Lives of Carl Sandburg.

The reader’s theatre production in one act runs for about 70–90 minutes. Sandburg’s life story is told by six actors who give dramatic and humorous readings from his poetry and prose and musicians sing songs from Sandburg’s American Songbag. As the audience finds their seats, images of Sandburg and his circle are projected on a screen. It all comes together in an informative, entertaining, and thought-provoking production.

Treska’s at Highland Lake will offer a brunch/play combination on Sunday, June 1, starting at 12:30 p.m. with the play beginning at 2:00 p.m.
