The Gallery at Flat Rock
Join us for Inspired by Art, an evening of writing inspired by visual art. Friday evening, July 24 at 6:30 pm In this first-of-its-kind event at The Gallery at Flat Rock, you will hear live readings by local authors. Each author has been challenged to select a piece of art currently displayed at the gallery and write about it. They may draft a poem, short story, memoir – anything they are inspired to write. You will hear why the art inspired them and how it guided their writing. The true challenge is the timeline with which the writers must work. They will come to the gallery on Tuesday, July 21 to choose the art they wish to write about. So it’s a quick turnaround! I hope you can experience this with us!
The following writers have accepted the challenge: Bruce Holliday, Mary Beth Stevens, Kathleen Calby, Diane Rhoades, Beth Beasley, Tenzin Morgana, Amy Bonesteel Smith, Karen Luke Jackson, and Tony Robles. This is a free event but please call or email the gallery to RSVP so we can plan for seating. Thank you!
