The Algonquian Tribe referred to the full moon in August as the Sturgeon Moon. Giant lake sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during the full moon at this time. I had no idea that Sturgeon fish range from 2 feet to over 20 feet long, weighing from 5 pounds up to 1,500 pounds. They are massive, long-lived prehistoric freshwater fish.

Every full moon community is invited to circle up and share stories. It’s a bit like The Moth Radio Hour, just a bit. This event is a free way to enjoy some sweet and sour soulful sharing. Our theme for August is FAR FROM HOME. Questions below are simply to prime your memory.
