Butcher Shop Press begins its creative journey by presenting its first group exhibition, ‘First Pulls: Works of Butcher Shop Press’, on display from March 25 through April 4
Butcher Shop Press is an art-based initiative housed in a space at the back of Studio 116 where a butcher shop once operated in the early 1900s. Today, the space has been transformed into a working print studio dedicated to exploring the craft and possibilities of printmaking.
Each hand-pulled print in this exhibit was created using the studio’s Takach etching press, generously donated by artist Marty Whaley Adams. The works highlight a range of approaches to printmaking and reflect the creativity of local artists exploring the unique processes of monotype and other print techniques.
